Blue Chronicles : People. Places. Stories. Islands.

Blue Chronicles is an editorial segment dedicated to the stories, people, cultures, landscapes and changing realities of island life. The word “Blue” represents the surrounding seas that connect island communities, while “Chronicles” suggests a continuing collection of stories, memories, experiences and perspectives recorded over time.

The title is intentionally broader than travel or tourism. It allows the segment to explore islands not merely as beautiful destinations, but as living spaces with histories, communities, traditions, challenges and identities of their own.

For islands such as Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep Islands, the sea is not simply scenery. It is part of everyday life. It influences livelihoods, food, transportation, culture, tourism, ecology and even the way communities understand their relationship with the world.

Blue Chronicles is a dedicated space to look at island destinations beyond the postcard image. Andamans and Lakshadweeps are often represented through beaches, coral reefs, sunsets and tourism. While these are an important part of their identity, there is an entire world beyond the tourist experience.
