How to earn gems –
The premium currency used in Rise of Empires is called Gems, these gems are used in many places to let you skip some time and this can speed up your progression. And you can use this currency to buy useful items like teleports and shields. But most importantly they are the only way to acquire some rarer commodities that you need to complete some building projects. And you must use these gems to buy Stationing plans, alloy barrels, War Horns etc.
If you want to complete your projects in a rush then you can buy gems in the offer packs that includes the gems. This is not necessary though, you can play in a normal speed.
Log on Everyday –
Logging on every day is very important. Because if you are a part of an alliance with more than 50 active members than you will get attendance bonuses every day. You can get up to 15 gems a day with a few speed ups and resources for good measures.
Finish Daily Challenges & Events
The daily challenges and events is the best way to get free gems, only you need to do is proper planning. Because there are so many challenges, and you need to check each day for new challenges. Sometimes at different times in a day for the hourly rotating daily challenges to see what new challenges is active at the time. The challenges might be to train soldiers, finish building something, do some research. Or can be combination of all of these. Sometimes it is to kill enemy troops, which means you need to get raiding.
If you are actively progressing in the game, like doing your training, building and researching then some of the challenges will come easily. But as each challenge has 3 levels, first and second challenge is easy to complete. And the third one is little harder than the first and second . In daily challenges, the rewards you get from completing each level of the challenge will depend on your own base level. So the key is the more you upgrade the better the rewards get. As you level up you will find these challenges easier and you will be able to claim more rewards and this will help you do more challenges.
Kill Undead Giant
To kill a undead giant you need to you need to be in an alliance and have some active members join you to kill a giant. But every day you have the task to kill the Undead Giant boss that roams the world map. Now, if you have a few alliance members to help you kill the giant then you can easily take on the level 1 Wendell and if you are stronger then you can take the higher level giants. You will get 50 gems once in a day, if you kill the level 1 giant. And there are more offers for the tougher levels.
Get 100 Gems From Imperial News
You can get 100 gems every time you view the imperial news broadcast. All you have to do is – Go to the gift section, tap the gift box icon in the lower left of your screen, it will form time to time offer . You have to watch an advertisement and you will get 100 gems in reward. For a new player the reward of 100 diamonds is very handy. This is a worth taking advantage.
Squash Undead
Every day there will be a small number of zombies enemies roaming around inside the walls of your city. These enemies can be squashed by tapping on them and will randomly award a small amount of resources (sometimes none though). A few will give you diamonds although usually only 1-3 each. Its not going to get you many but its quick and easy to do when you see them so give it a go.
Gem Mining
Not everybody know this but Gem mining is a simple ways to gain extra diamonds but with a catch. Its slow. There are research items in The institute that will help you speed this up but it is still a slow process and finding mines with lots of gems to gather is hard.
Mines are found in the World view in the same way as other resource plots such as farms. Look for the blue gem colour. You send your troops to them to gather as normal.
We would not recommend relying on this method but if you are going to be offline in the game and have nothing else to do with your troops then why not send them to the mines to gain you an extra few dozen gems.
