Cyclone Amphan Impact in Kolkata.
Cyclone Amphan Update : Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, monitoring the situation from the state secretariat, said that 72 persons lost their life .
Orissa update : Cyclone Amphan has killed 72 persons till now. West Bengal is in more danger. People are suffering enough already during this Corona crisis. Now people are dealing with a new issue ‘Amphan’. The cyclone has killed 72 person and destroying Kolkata and several parts of West Bengal. Thousands of people lost their home, now how will they maintain social distancing.
Mamta Banerjee said, “I would request Prime Minister Narendra Modi to come and visit cyclone Amphan affected areas.” People are dying due to electrocution, crashing down trees, hit by flying objects in this severe Strom. With this heavy rain, it is very difficult to rescue any life or estimate, how much property destruction happen so far.
Three persons were killed due to the electrocution in North Paraganas and Hoogly districts.
Amphan is hitting West Bengal 190 km per hour wind speed. At first Amphan hit Digha and cost of West Bengal on Wednesday. Yesterday Mamta Banerjee, Chief Minister of West Bengal said, “impact of amphan was worse than coronavirus.”
Mamta Banerjee, Chief Minister of West Bengal announced corpus fund of Rs. 10 billion for restoration work of the affected areas.
